Needham High School Boys' Varsity Soccer Coach

Jimmy Odierna (Coach O) was the KerrCamp Director for two years before taking over as owner of the camps in 2008. Coach O was a staff coach for the nationally ranked FC Greater Boston Bolts club for 7 years, coaching the Bolts 98 Boys' Pre-Academy team and serving as the Junior Academy Director his last year there in 2012 before stopping as his own family started. In 2023 he rejoined the Bolts Staff, currently coaching the 2014 Central Elite Team. Coach O spent three years as Head Coach of the Newbury College Men's Soccer team from 2007-2009. Coach O, also know as Mr. O, has taught for 20 years as a Math Teacher at Needham High School. After a three year stint as the boys freshman coach from 2004-2006, he returned to that position from 2010 through 2014, assisting the programming to two Division One State Championships in 2012 and 2014. In May of 2015 Coach O was named the Needham High School Boys' Varsity Soccer Coach and has had 9 successful seasons with the program including 8 consecutive Bay State Conference Division Championships. In 2022 Coach O led the the team to a #1 ranking in the MIAA Division 1 tournament and an appearance in the State Finals. He earned the "United Soccer Coaches" Massachusetts Coach of the Year honors that year. In 2023, he again led the team to an appearance in the State Finals as the #2 seed - the 3rd appearance in 4 years.  In 2021, the team had an undefeated regular season, #2 ranking in the MIAA Division 1 tournament, and earned the MIAA Division 1 Boys Soccer Sportsmanship Award. In 2019 Jimmy coached the team to a #1 ranking in the South Region, Eastern Mass Division 1 Champions, and an appearance in the State Finals. That year he earned Boston Globe Boys Division 1 Coach of the Year. He has coached 3 players who have earned All America accolades - including 2 who have also worked at Coach O's Soccer Camp! Coach O also continues to be active in the school community in many other forms. Coach O has his USC Advanced National Diploma and is trained in First Aid and CPR/AED. He resides in Hopkinton with his wife Michelle, 13 year old daughter, and 10 year old son.
