There are many camps out there for children, especially soccer specific camps. So how do you choose a camp that is right for your children? Below I've highlighted a few details that I believe makes this camp the best choice for you! Safety! Make sure the camp you sign up for has the safety of your children in mind. At Coach O's Soccer, we take pride in making sure your kids are well taken care of and safe. 1) Approved by the Department of Health - All camps are supposed to be registered with the local Department of Health in each town. Many camps hold sessions for shorter periods of time (both in terms of hours or days) to try to get around those rules. We don't cut corners! We make sure we comply with all their requirements to help keep your children safe and healthy! 2) Nurses/Trainers - Many camps do not have staff licensed as nurses or trainers due to the high costs to obtain them. Here we make sure there is one on site almost all the time! In the event they temporarily leave the premise (this is not common), Jimmy is trained in both First Aid and CPR to tend to the needs of the campers. 3) Safe Shelter - Many day sports camps do not have a location to go in the event of inclement weather. I will only hold a camp at a venue that allows us to move indoors if there is thunder or lightning in the area. I try to make sure the indoor location is an area we can continue to play, although in some locations it may just be a classroom where we watch a movie. Either way, your children will be in a safe place and you will not need to come pick them up! Convenience! Coach O's Soccer Camps are designed to be convenient for families! Many camps require you to rearrange your work schedule or figure out a car pool option in order for your children to attend. We run a full 7 hour camp from 9 to 4. And to help out those working parents, we also offer early drop off and late pick up options. Director Jimmy Odierna will arrive by 7:45 for any families who sign up for an early drop off and staff will stay late for any families who want to sign up for the late pick up till 5 PM. You'll notice some other camps only run 4 days (typically to avoid meeting the Board of Health requirements). We run a full 5 days of camp so you're not left wondering what to do with your kids on the 5th day. Professionalism and Personalization! At Coach O's Soccer camps the Director and owner Jimmy Odierna is at the camp at all times and is working with your kids! I work very hard to learn everybody's names as quickly as possible. I create all of the curriculum, set up all of the activities, and train the staff on their duties for each part of every day. You can be confident that I will be overseeing the coaches that are working with your kids as well as stepping in to train them myself throughout each day! If something doesn't seem to be going well, I step in and make adjustments so that your child's needs are met. Many other camps have been set up more like a factory, with multiple locations each week. Do you know who is in charge and overseeing the staff at each location? Is the staff prepped each day? Is the owner/director involved or somewhere else? Value! In these tough economic times it is important that you are getting the most for your money. Run the numbers on our rates and you will see you are getting the best value for your money. At $295, the cost is $59 a day with a 7 hour day (just over $8 per hour). This will include a ratio of campers to counselors that is under 10:1, an on site nurse/trainer, and a safe indoor place to go when needed. I also take very good care of my staff as well. They do a much better job and are happier when they are compensated properly, and their great attitude rubs off on your kids! |
